  1. About the Journal

The Emmanuel Alayande University of Education Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies (EAUED-JMS) is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research across diverse disciplines. The journal welcomes original research articles, review articles, case studies, and theoretical papers.2. Submission Categories

  1. Original Research Articles: Present findings from original research (4,000 to 6,000 words, including references).
  2. Review Articles: Provide comprehensive overviews of specific fields (4,000 to 7,000 words).
  3. Case Studies: Detailed analysis of specific cases with broader implications (2,000 to 4,000 words).
  4. Theoretical Papers: Explore new theories or extend existing frameworks (3,000 to 5,000 words).
  1. Submission Requirements

3.1 General Formatting

  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear and concise English.
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point size.
  • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing with 1-inch margins on all sides.
  • Page Numbers: Include page numbers at the bottom center of each page.
  • File Format: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).

3.2 Structure of the Manuscript

  1. Title Page:
    • Title (not more than 20 words, descriptive, and relevant).
    • Full names of all authors, institutional affiliations, and email addresses.
    • Corresponding author’s details (including phone number).
  2. Abstract:
    • Maximum of 250 words.
    • Include background, methods, key findings, and conclusions.
  3. Keywords:
    • Provide 4–6 keywords relevant to the study.
  4. Main Body:
    • Introduction: Clearly state the problem, objectives, and significance of the study.
    • Literature Review: Summarize relevant past studies and theoretical foundations.
    • Methodology: Explain research design, data collection, and analysis techniques.
    • Results and Discussion: Present findings and interpret them in the context of existing literature.
    • Conclusion and Recommendations: Summarize findings and suggest implications or future research.
  5. References:
    • Use the latest APA format for referencing.
    • Ensure all in-text citations are included in the reference list and vice versa.
  1. Tables, Figures, and Illustrations
  • Tables and figures should be embedded in the manuscript near their first citation.
  • Use clear, descriptive titles for all tables and figures.
  • Ensure high-quality images (minimum resolution: 300 DPI).
  • Include legends for figures and properly label axes and units.
  1. Submission Process
  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s email/website: [eauedjms@eauedoyo.edu.ng].
  • Include a cover letter stating: 
    • The article’s originality and confirmation that it is not under review elsewhere.
    • Author contributions to the work.
    • Any conflicts of interest.
  1. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure high-quality, unbiased evaluation. The steps include:

  1. Initial Screening: The editorial team evaluates the manuscript for compliance with journal guidelines and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  2. Peer Review: Manuscripts are reviewed by at least two experts in the field.
  3. Decision: Authors are notified of one of the following: 
    • Acceptance with no revisions.
    • Minor or major revisions required.
    • Rejection.
  1. Ethical Considerations
  • Originality: Manuscripts must be the original work of the author(s) and free from plagiarism.
  • Authorship: All listed authors must have significantly contributed to the research.
  • Ethical Approval: Studies involving human or animal subjects must include evidence of ethical approval from relevant authorities.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
  1. Copyright and Licensing
  • By submitting to EAUED-JMS, authors retain the copyright to their work while granting the journal a non-exclusive license to publish.
  • Published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA) license.

10. Checklist for Authors

Before submitting, ensure the following:

  • Manuscript is formatted as per the guidelines.
  • All authors have approved the manuscript.
  • Abstract and keywords are included.
  • References are in APA format.
  • Cover letter is attached.

These guidelines aim to ensure a smooth submission process and maintain the journal’s high standards. Authors are encouraged to follow them carefully to enhance the chances of publication.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Please ensure that the following requirements are met before submission:

  1. Manuscript Preparation
  • The manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • The manuscript follows the EAUED-JMS formatting guidelines (font, margins, referencing style, etc.).
  • The title page includes the manuscript title, author(s) name(s), affiliation(s), and contact information for the corresponding author.
  • An abstract (150–250 words) summarizing the research is provided.
  • A list of 4–6 keywords is included after the abstract.
  • All figures, tables, and illustrations are appropriately labeled, captioned, and cited in the text.
  1. References
  • All in-text citations are accurately listed in the reference section, formatted according to the journal's style guide.
  • References are recent, relevant, and accessible for verification.
  1. Ethical Compliance
  • Ethical approval for the study (if applicable) is documented and attached.
  • Informed consent from participants (if applicable) has been obtained and documented.
  • All authors have declared any potential conflicts of interest.
  1. Submission Components
  2. The main manuscript is uploaded in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
    a. A completed Copyright Transfer Form is attached.
    b. A completed Conflict of Interest Declaration Form is attached.
    b. Any supplementary materials (e.g., data sets, appendices, or additional figures) are included and clearly referenced in the manuscript.
  3. Open Science Requirements
  • Data sharing and transparency statements (if applicable) are included.
  • Research methodologies are fully documented and accessible.
  1. Communication
  • Acknowledgment of receipt of the manuscript will be requested after submission.
  • The corresponding author is available for queries during the review process.

  • 2.1 Author Retention of Rights:
    Authors retain the copyright to their work published in the journal. However, authors grant EAUED-JMS a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, and archive their work.
  • 2.2 Licensing Agreement:
    Upon acceptance of the manuscript, authors are required to sign a licensing agreement that allows the journal to:
    • Publish the article in print and electronic formats.
    • Distribute the article through various indexing and archiving platforms.
    • Permit non-commercial use of the published content under specific conditions (see Section 5).
  • 2.3 Journal's Rights:
    EAUED-JMS holds the rights to the published version of the article, including layout, typesetting, and branding. The journal may modify or distribute these for dissemination purposes, always ensuring the author's integrity is preserved.
  1. Author Responsibilities
  • 3.1 Originality:
    Authors must ensure their submission is original, has not been published elsewhere, and does not infringe on the copyright of others.
  • 3.2 Permissions:
    Authors must obtain permission for any copyrighted material (e.g., images, tables, or extended quotations) used in their article and provide evidence of such permission upon request.
  • 3.3 Attribution:
    Proper acknowledgment of sources must be provided, and all co-authors must agree to the submission and its content.
  1. Open Access Policy

EAUED-JMS operates as an open-access journal, meaning all articles are freely available online to the public immediately after publication. This promotes greater global exchange of knowledge while adhering to the following conditions:

  • Articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA) license unless otherwise specified.
  • Under this license: 
    • Readers may copy, distribute, and adapt the material for non-commercial purposes, provided proper attribution is given to the original author(s) and source.
    • Adaptations must be shared under the same or compatible license.
  1. Permissions for Third-Party Use

For purposes beyond those covered by the CC BY-NC-SA license, third parties must seek explicit permission from the journal. This includes:

  • Commercial reproduction or distribution.
  • Translation or adaptation of the entire article for commercial purposes.
  • Use of the article's content in derivative works for profit
  1. Plagiarism and Misconduct
  • EAUED-JMS adopts a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism and copyright infringement. All submissions are subjected to plagiarism detection tools.
  • In cases of proven copyright violations, articles may be retracted, and authors may face sanctions, including bans on future submissions.
  1. Archiving and Repository Policy

EAUED-JMS allows authors to deposit the following versions of their articles in institutional or subject-based repositories:

  • Preprint version: Before peer review.
  • Postprint version: After peer review but before final journal formatting.
  • Published version: Final formatted version (as published by EAUE-JMS), provided proper attribution is given.
  1. Withdrawal and Retraction Policy
  • Authors may withdraw their manuscripts before acceptance. However, after publication, the content cannot be removed but may be retracted under specific circumstances (e.g., ethical violations or significant errors).
  • Retractions will be clearly indicated with a statement explaining the reasons.
  1. Copyright Infringement Complaints

Complaints regarding copyright infringement will be promptly investigated. If valid, corrective measures, including retraction or corrections, will be implemented.
