Withdrawal Policy
1. Purpose of the Policy
This withdrawal policy outlines the guidelines and procedures for handling requests to withdraw manuscripts from the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies (EAUED-JMS). The policy aims to ensure academic integrity while maintaining transparency and accountability in the editorial process.
2. Definition of Withdrawal
Withdrawal refers to the removal of a manuscript from the review or publication process at the author's request or due to editorial intervention based on ethical concerns or other significant issues.
3. Grounds for Withdrawal
3.1 Author-Initiated Withdrawal
Authors may request withdrawal of their manuscript for the following reasons:
- Discovery of significant errors or inaccuracies in the manuscript.
- Change in authorship or research scope necessitating major revisions.
- Desire to submit the manuscript to another journal, provided the manuscript is still under review.
3.2 Editor-Initiated Withdrawal
The editorial board may withdraw a manuscript for the following reasons:
- Evidence of plagiarism or unethical practices.
- Failure to comply with the journal's submission guidelines after multiple requests for revision.
- Non-response from authors for an extended period, typically exceeding 30 days.
4. Procedure for Withdrawal
4.1 Author-Initiated Withdrawal
- Authors must submit a formal withdrawal request via email to the journal's editorial office, clearly stating the reason for withdrawal.
- The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors consent to the withdrawal request.
- The editorial office will review the request and respond within 7 business days.
4.2 Editor-Initiated Withdrawal
- The editorial board will notify the corresponding author of the decision to withdraw the manuscript, providing the reasons for this action.
- Authors will have an opportunity to respond to the editorial board's concerns before a final decision is made.
5. Post-Withdrawal Actions
- Once a manuscript is withdrawn, it will no longer be considered for publication in EAUED-JMS.
- If the withdrawal occurs after acceptance but before publication, any pre-published versions (e.g., online proofs) will be removed from the journal's website.
- In cases of ethical violations, the journal reserves the right to notify relevant institutions, funding agencies, or other appropriate entities.
6. Fee Policy
- No withdrawal fees will be charged for manuscripts withdrawn during the initial review phase.
- A withdrawal fee may apply if the manuscript has undergone peer review or typesetting, and the amount will be communicated to the authors beforehand.
7. Disclaimer
The journal reserves the right to amend this policy as deemed necessary. Any changes will be communicated to authors through the journals website and other relevant platforms.
